Update/ Where Have I Been?

I have been away a while. If you find the date on my last post, you’ll see how disappointingly long it’s been since I’ve posted something new. I HAVE worked on some things here and there, they just haven’t gone up. I have no valid reasons why. The long and short of it is I got lazy and anything I was working on fell by the wayside. AGAIN.

I haven’t been completely lazy though, believe it or not. A few weeks ago I got a new (and my second on going) job. I am working as a dishwasher at local restaurant, just a short bus ride from my house. It’s by no means a career or in its own right an exciting job, I am however very fortunate to be doing it an environment I am so far enjoying. If I put my mind to it I could probably give you a lists of jobs I’d rather be doing, but I have learned to be grateful of the opportunity I’ve been afforded. It’s giving me something more to do each day than lounging around, and it means more money that I can save for a later date.

Speaking of more money, I just yesterday used some of the money I had saved to by myself a brand new, HP Envy 2 in 1 laptop/Computer.

HP(This bad boy right here)

I had a few reasons why I chose a 2 in 1 over a conventional laptop, the most important however was being able to easily take it on the go with me and write in my spare time. Because my jobs are so close by, there are a few days a week where I go from one to the other and have a few hours in between. A 2 in 1 being lighter and smaller than a conventional laptop means I can easily bring it with me and be using it between my shifts.

I am hoping this means I will post more. I say hoping because having the computer with me doesn’t automatically mean I am going to use it to write. Lazy is lazy regardless of what tools I have at my disposal. If I can keep the motivation up, I won’t have to wait until I get home to write up any ideas I come up with. I’ll either be able to write it up between shifts or on the way home, cutting down the risk of losing the idea altogether.

No guarantees though. If I tell you I AM going to post more, it’s most likely going to end up as a broken promise.

Thanks for the new post, Callum. Honestly, as a teacher in a predominately upscale area of Ontario, I really liked your line that communicated your appreciation and gratefulness of the opportunities you’ve been given. I think that’s an incredibly mature way of seeing the world – it’s something I try to instil into a group of adolescents (some of whom are quite entitled). Thanks.

Sincere apologies it took me this long to get back to you!

Where I don’t always take advantage of the opportunities I am given, I try my best to always be grateful of them. If we’re not grateful, similar opportunities may not be afforded to us in the future. 🙂
